Sir J J College of Architecture, Mumbai: It was founded in 1990, affiliated with Mumbai University. Various well-known personalities passed out from the College like— Achyut Kanvinde – Architect, Amol Palekar – Actor, Arundhati Roy-Writer, essayist, activist, Balkrishna Doshi – Architect, Raj Thackeray – Politician.
Department of Architecture, IIT Roorkee: The Architecture Course was started at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee in the year 1956-57. Its being the first institute in India started master degree in architect.
Chandigarh College of Architecture, Chandigarh: Established in 1961 imparting education and research in the field of architecture. Notable Alumni from the college is Baburam Bhattarai – 35th Prime Minister of Nepal.
Department of Architecture, NIT Tiruchirapalli: It was started in the year 1981 with the motto Truth Alone Triumphs. It is in the top 15 colleges of India for all the courses as well.
